At the 2012 edition of the Paris Motor Show, BMW will be showing a number of concepts to preview their future models, one of them being a compact MPV-syle FWD car that will be named the Active Sports Tourer. This concept will be familiar to our fans, since it’s been featured many times in our spyshots section as the 1-Series Gran Turismo.
Out of the pages of the next issue of German magazine Auto Buld comes what we believe to be the very first photo of this car. The magazine will be out on Friday, September 14th, so BMW might come out with a reveal of its own by that time.

But for now this is the photo of the Active Sports Tourer, as Auto Bild’s editor Jorg Maltzan got a world exclusive with the “1er as a van”. The concept features a sculpted bonnet, a strong character line going through the door handles and the typical MPV shape.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
