Call it the BMW 1-Series Gran Turismo, the GT or just the BMW SportsVan, but one thing is fore sure: the Bavarians have a front-wheel drive hatchback coming our way, and it’s built on the same platform as the MINI Cooper.
However, BMW Blog has managed to learn just how soon the 1er GT will hit, as a source has told them it will bow at the Paris Motor Show in October. It will offer three- and four-cylinder engines, and even a hybrid drivetrain and optional xDrive.
Oddly though, BMW Blog says it will hit dealerships in 2014, leading us to believe that we’re only going to see a sort of pre-production concept half-breed in Paris, not the actual car. When it does hit the market, it will go against the Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf Plus and maybe the Mercedes B-Class.
