BlueEFFICIENCY: Mercedes Benz GLK 220 / 250 CDI

The latest additions to the GLK range have been presented by Mercedes Benz as being two efficient models that are offering good handling thanks to the BlueEFFICIENCY technology. Nothing new so far, as we were aware that this wide selection of green automotive technologies will be available as an option for every single Mercedes Benz automobile.

But how does it apply to the GLK 220 CDI and GLK 250 CDI 4MATIC? Well, like all BlueEFFICIENCY models from Mercedes-Benz, the two new GLK models also feature an extensive package of measures that help to reduce fuel consumption.

The GLK 250 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY is fitted with a four-cylinder diesel engine with direct fuel injection that produces 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The model has a combined fuel consumption of 6.7 l/100km (35.1 mpg) and emits 176 g/km.

As for the GLK 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, it is also fitted with a four-cylinder diesel engine able to develop 170 hp and consumes only between 6.0 and 6.4 l/100 km (between 39.2 and 36.8 mpg). In addition, the carbon emission figures are from 158 to 168 g/km.

Moreover, not only they meet the EU5 emissions standard but both models also have the potential to fulfill the EU6 limits as well as the BIN 5 requirements in the USA.

The SUV also benefits from new equipment options for the new model year, including features like KEYLESS GO or a reversing camera with static help lines, while all COMAND infotainment systems are able to receive digital radio (DAB). The optional Intelligent Light System (ILS) now includes LED daytime running lights and-19 inch winter wheels have also been added to the package.
