In the U.S., the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor has been the primary tool in combating crime for a heck of a long time now. Although the more modern Taurus is a pretty cool successor to the aging Vic, we're pretty sure that the Chevrolet Caprice PPV is the more wicked machine, especially when it's blown for good measure.
Thanks to a 6.0-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm), the Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle is the type of car ready to enforce law and order pretty much anytime, anywhere. Although it weighs almost 4,300 lbs, the 0 to 60 mph sprint is dealt with in a brisk 5.9 seconds thanks to the LS muscle mated to a bulletproof six-speed automatic transmission.
So what can a Chevrolet Caprice PPV do when its owner supercharges it to 489 rear wheel horsepower and 595 lb-ft (806 Nm) of tire-shredding torque? It can keep up with most weekend dragstrip warriors, that's for sure, as well as lay down ridiculously long strips of rubber. Aside from the Procharger D1SC blower and a custom stainless steel exhaust, this monster also sports a three-core intercooler and Aeroforce Technology temperature gauges.
That's about enough with the technical mumbo jumbo; the big question is if the Procharged Chevrolet Caprice PPV LSX-9C1 can actually walk the walk at least as good as it can talk the talk.
