Some may say that the Toyota AE 86 looks like a brick with tiny wheels, but we say that with the right parts it looks absolutely fabulous.

As we’ve discussed before, the AE 86 is one of those cars that can be ruined if using the wrong aftermarket body parts and it could end up looking like a steam iron, but a tuning firm like TEC-ART’S in Japan knows how to transform the legendary hachi-roku into pure awesomeness.

The base model for this tuning job is actually a Black Limited edition that was offered with black paint obviously, yellow headlight bulbs, a specific decal set, orange stitching inside and taillights garnish.

Design wise, the AE 86 got a TEC-ART’S aero kit that includes bumpers, side skirts and flared wheel arches, as well as a CBY rear wing and Otsuka-Fu graphics. Inside, it got a Juran Racing GTZ210 racing seat, 350 mm steering wheel, Defi gauges and black/orange upholstery and trimming.

Powering the black beauty is a 1.8-liter 7A-G engine (Toyota 4A-GE cylinder head/7A-FE block) with high lift valve springs, 4-barrel throttle intake manifold kit, 600 cc fuel injectors, MSD ignition, a GReddy T518Z turbocharger and more. It develops a maximum of 349 PS that goes to the rear wheels through a Toyota W55 transmission with ATS carbon clutch.
