“She sits here like any other person does. She’s a person” a lady riding a Seattle public bus said while talking about the black labrador sitting next to her. No, it’s not an early April 1st prank, but a real story. What’s even better is the fact that it would seem the cute dog is quite popular around local commuters.
The odd bus rider is a proud Belltown, Seattle “citizen” that rides busses like any other person, only he is not human. Commuters in the city recently reported seeing the frequently hopping in the bus and riding along up to a certain stop where it would get off. The 2-year old lab has been spotting roaming the aisles, hopping onto seats next to strangers and sometimes even taking a bit of maintenance (licking her surroundings).
“All the bus drivers know her. She sits here just like a person does. She makes everybody happy. How could you not love this thing?” commuter Tiona Rainwater told Komo News. It was later found that the cute dog, whose name is Eclipse, is in fact an average bus commuter that usually gets off at the dog park.
Like things weren’t beyond adorable already, it turns out the black lab is not traveling by itself every trip, only when its owner fails to finish his cigarette once the bus arrives in the station. "We get separated. She gets on the bus without me, and I catch up with her at the dog park," said Jeff Young, who owns the dog. "It's not hard to get on. She gets on in front of her house and she gets off at the dog park, three or four stops later."
