China-based Daryl Villanueva is than am behind the staggering, jaw-dropping, mesmerizing Bandit9 custom bikes, machines built in exclusive, very limited runs, and which pack a huge styling factor that’s exceedingly hard to beat in the custom scene. Meet the Bishop, Daryl’s latest creation, a bike concept which is both a statement and a luxurious piece of modern art.
If anything, Bandit9 is exceptionally careful with the bikes’ aesthetics, and the Bishop is not making an exception. Brushed metal, careful proportions, and radical styling are keywords in Daryl’s work, and the Bishop is not at all shy to show off.

According to Villanueva, The Bishop will only be built in a 9-unit run, and these bikes will be based on Honda SuperSport machines, with 90 to 125ccc displacement. The frame however steps into the future, with a high-grade aluminium unibody design sitting on custom suspensions. And if you look closely, you’ll notice that the upside down shortened fork is complemented by a matching array of dual similar units acting as rear shock absorbers.

The unibody frame incorporates the fuel tank, which has received a luxury treatment in the shape of walnut, oak, teak burl side panels, polished to a shiny perfection. The flat seat is covered with rich leather tuck and roll padding, beautifully complementing the low, clubman-style clip-on bars. Custom rear sets have been fabricated, and the spectacular exhaust header and silencer are also an in-house creation of this amazing builder.

As for the rideability factor, we’ve seen Daryl aboard several of his creations, so we could expect that the Bishop is still up for some real two-wheeled fun on the road, as well. “Rideable art” could be an interesting slogan for Daryl, isn’t it?
