Bill Wilburn Named Crew Chief for Brian Scott

Braun Racing announced the appointment of Bill Wilburn as crew chief for the No. 11 team and driver Brian Scott. Last year, Wilburn was in charge of Ricky Carmichael's car for Kevin Harvick.

"I'm very excited about the opportunity to join Braun Racing. This is a team that has proven they have all of the necessary tools to go out and contend for wins each and every week," Wilburn said according to NASCAR.

"I look forward to helping to add to their success and working together with this core group of guys who have been together for a number of years to win more races and contend for a championship."

"Bill brings such a wealth of knowledge to our program at Braun Racing. Being able to lean on Bill while adjusting to the new car will surely flatten my learning curve. That experience gives us a greater chance at success," said Scott, who will also be chasing 2010 Raybestos rookie of the year title in the upcoming season.

Last week, Braun racing announced its Sprint debut, with a team comprising former Ganassi and Richard Petty Motorsports racer Reed Sorenson, Braun Racing driver Brian Vickers and crew chief Trent Owens.

The team, car and driver will debut at the Daytona 500 event, followed by presences at Atlanta, Chicagoland, Indianapolis and Charlotte.

"Fielding a car in the Daytona 500 has been one of my life-long dreams," team owner Todd Braun concluded. "It is incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to realise that dream."
