New details surface in the case of the recent extreme road rage incident in Manhattan. Yesterday we reported about a brawl between a group of bikies and the driver of a black Range Rover, and slowly the police and press are finding more details on the matter.
Still the full video was not released for public viewing, so in this aspect things are unclear yet. While some claim the Range Rover was tailgating the biker group aggressively, there are other voices deeming the motorcyclists actions "extremely stupid" and offensive.
What is undeniably obvious is the fact that the rider of a white motorcycle cut the Range Rover driver, Alexian Lien, 33, and brake-checked him. This mindless maneuver resulted in Lien rear-ending the aforementioned biker, who allegedly got a broken leg.
According to Officer Christopher Pisano of the NYPD, quoted by ABC News, one of the car's tires was punctured with a knife, prior to Lien, reportedly fearing for his life, and those of his wife and infant daughter, drove forward through the motorcycle group.
The same source mentions that after the moment where the footage stops, several bikers pulled him out of the car and pummeled him. This resulted in Lien being admitted in a local hospital, where his facial wounds were treated and received stitches prior to being released.
No other details have been given, as Officer Pisano declared that a full-scale investigation is under way, with checking surveillance video and questioning witnesses.
It appears like the biker group were heading for the Times Square for an annual stunt ride. The Police made 15 arrests, confiscated 55 motorcycles and 68 summonses have been issued in relation with the “annual ride”.
