Beyonce Shares Photo of Jay Z's New Tesla Model S

Jay Z is yet another celebrity to make the eco statement by buying the hit electric car of the moment. Elon Musk's Tesla Model S has proven very successful with celebrities from all walks of life, including rappers and actors. Of course, since this is a very well built EV with very few drawbacks and looks quite sexy, the Model S is not a hard car to like.

We don't know what sort of money Jay dropped on the Tesla, but with a net worth of around half a billion and an equally wealthy wife, his wallet barely flinched. Going green shouldn't be about how much you can spend, but what you can do to help.

This picture was uploaded by Beyonce on her Tumbler page a few days ago and shows Mister Shawn Carter walking by the black Tesla, admiring its lines.

This is not, however, the biggest announcement to come from the hardest working couple in the music industry. Jay Z and Beyonce have announced they will combine their star power in a hit road tour called "On the Run", starting in June. 16 major cities in America will be hit and hopefully the Tesla Model S will tag along.

The Model S was launched in 2012 and features a full-size five-door liftback body. 416 horsepower is delivered from the rear-mounted motor to the back wheels of the car, enough to make it feel agile. The range-topping Model S Performance model equipped with an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is rated by the US Environmental Protection Agency at 265 miles of range (426 kilometers).

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
