It’s hard to think how much rarer a McLaren P1 or a one-of-50 McLaren MSO 650S Spider could get, but McLaren aims to show us exactly that at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. One-off versions of the P1 and the MSO 650S Spider have been created by McLaren Special Operations for customers in North America and both stunning cars be revealed later this month in Monterey, CA.
The limited-edition MSO 650S Spider was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but this custom creation imagined up by McLaren Newport Beach takes the stunning supercar to a higher level. Finished in a Cerulean Blue hue, which promises plenty of metallic flakes, this MSO 650S Spider really pops. The bright blue helps to contrast the exposed satin-finished carbon fiber components that already define the look of the MSO 650S range. This unique model also benefits from bright silver, 10-spoke wheels and chrome trim around the exhaust outlets. Inside, this MSO 650S Spider features an all-black cabin accented with contrasting blue stitching.
As eye-catching as this one-of-a-kind MSO 650S Spider is, the McLaren P1 is the absolute show stopper. Sure, the Sterling Grey color, gloss carbon fiber and even the McLaren orange accents look stunning, but this car’s pièce de résistance is the 24-carat gold used on the heat shield and exhaust finisher, which McLaren says is derived from its Formula One racecars. The cabin of this custom P1 is equally impressive as it is almost completely comprised of either exposed carbon fiber or Alcantara.
And just in case the sight of these ultra-rare McLarens won’t be enough for those attending the Pebble Beach festivities, the British automaker will still be revealing its P1 GTR design concept.
