Bertone Project M New Teaser Video

The upcoming 2009 Shanghai Auto Show will witness the unveiling of a super sports car signed by Bertone, a vehicle surrounded by rumor but by little know facts. What is certain is that the one-off is coming, and the latest teaser leaked today sheds new light on the supercar.

The vehicle, code named Project M, was designed by former Pininfarina designer Jason Castriota. The car is said to be a mix of two design schools, combining the American muscle car driven design with the Italian high-end drawing skills.

The American side of the Project M is actually the basis for the new super car and comes in the form of a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 platform, mated to an entirely new body, mostly made of carbon fiber and magnesium, Motor Authority reported. By doing so, the builder managed to reduce the overall weight of the Project M by about 250 pounds, compared with the ZR1.

That's about all the information there is out there about the sportscar, at least so far. Except perhaps the fact that it would seem the car is built on demand, as it was ordered and will be payed for (rumor says around $2 million is the price for the Project M) by an Asian private client, according to edmunds.com.
