Berlin to Get Mega BMW Dealership in May

Munich isn't the only place where BMW wants a huge dealership. Sure, the home of the Bavarian brand won't go anywhere anytime soon but the Germans will also have a second home in the nation's capital, Berlin. The Bavarians are already working on a new Mega-Dealership over there, that will be done and properly launched in May.

"Berlin is for the BMW Group a strategically important location. With the construction of our new branch, we want to give our brands BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad an even stronger presence in the capital," said Roland Krüger, Head of Sales Germany.

Nearly $90 million were spent into making this new building that will be sporting an anodized aluminum facade, on the corner of Imperial Dam and Fair Dam for BMW, a black, cubic solitaire building right next to it for MINI vehicles and another separate one for BMW Motorrad. All of them have been designed by architect Peter Lanz and will show up in the Berlin-Charlottenburg part of the capital.

All the other dealerships around will be closed, some of them being nearly 45 years old and this new one will take over being capable of putting up for display over 50 new cars, 200 used ones, 200 motorcycles and 15 maxi-scooters, being the new workplace for around 300 employees.

"The new office makes an important and indispensable contribution to Berlin as a cultural and sports capital .The new branch is thus also a symbol of a successful future," said Frank Henkel , Mayor and Senator for Interior and Sports of the State of Berlin.
