Remember the Bentley Turbo R, with R standing for roadholding? It was the most powerful four-door Bentley of its time, boasting a gargantuan 6.75-liter V8 with 385 horsepower and a Garrett AirResearch turbocharger. But what if we told you that this Turbo R makes do with 675 horsepower and a Chevy V8?
You'd better believe it. Found on Craigslist in Wayne, the owner of this "like no other" Bentley Turbo R wants $39,900 for this uber powerful luxury sedan. Starting life as a 1988 model, the brute here was "built for a major West Coast supermarket chain owner." The thing is, we thoroughly dig the stock appearance of this car even though there's a 502 bad boy under the hood.

The 502 c.i. (8.2-liter) V8 engine is a Tonawanda product boasting a Paxton centrifugal supercharger system, square port iron heads, a GM-based ECM high current processor with Fuel Injections Specialties chip, as well as a heavy-duty radiator and a much bigger oil cooler. The big-block motor features many other enhancements, such as Bosch high-flow fuel injectors, a Mallory HP1 100F1 fuel pump, stainless steel fuel hoses, a high-flow filter (pre and post-pump filtration), as well as a bottle of NOS in the trunk for good measure. You've heard that right – this Bentley Turbo R comes with nitrous oxide just because.

All those 675 horsepower are channeled to the rear wheels via a GM TH400 3-speed automatic featuring a custom auto/manual valve body. Vector in a stall converter, add-on overdrive unit, and a heavy-duty driveshaft and you're ready to smoke 'em. The added grunt prompted the owner to opt for a custom Ford 9-inch rear end and an adjustable 4-link rear suspension setup, as well as Richmond 3.70 gears. And yes, the wheels are factory alloys dressed in Nitto NT555 R275/40 17-inch high-performance radial tires.

As far as the interior is concerned, you get leather everything, real wood, sheepskin seat covers, and a 1,000-watt Alpine stereo system. Mind you, that steering wheel is as ugly as they get. If you're willing to spend $40k on this British beef, you'd better ask the owner to throw in the original steering wheel.
