Before this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the automotive world was all rumors and whispers about the arrival of a Bentley SUV. It was a hard pill to swallow when it finally arrived, as the concept that was shown, named EXP 9 F, was sort of an… acquitted taste.
We found that the vehicle had an impressive attention to detail, and some very interesting design details like the storage in the boot and the LED rings around the air intakes at the front. But the overall look was unnecessarily complicated, edgy and cluttered. However, a the business case has been built for the car, and there can be no doubt Bentley stand to make a lot of money from a luxury SUV should they actually get it right.
So, according to What Car?, Bentley designers have already gone back to the drawing board and will redesign the vehicle. Company insiders on the show floor described the design as being “a little heavy handed”, a fact with which we agree.
