Bentley has introduce the Continental GT V8 S, a more powerful version of the GT V8 that was revealed more than a year ago. Powered by the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter mill, the S model delivers a total of 521 horses and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, 21 bhp more than the “regular” GT V8.

The new output enables the coupe to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing start in 4.5 seconds and a top of 192 mph (309 km/h). The Convertible, however, needs 4.7 seconds for the sprint and reaches its top speed limit at 191 mph (308 km/h). By comparison, the GT V8 takes 4.8 seconds to get to 62 mph and tops 188 mph (303 km/h).

But the Continental GT V8 S gained more than just a power boost. According to Bentley, the sports car comes with a 10mm lowered suspension, stiffened spring rates, revised dampers, updated stability control and a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels.

Both the Coupe and the Convertible will be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10.

"The Bentley Continental is the definitive grand tourer. Its effortless performance, generous space, handcrafted luxury and all-wheel drive capability take you on a journey in refined style and comfort. Now, for those customers who want even more drama and excitement, the sharper, sporting edge of the new GT V8 S adds a new dimension to the Continental range,” said Wolfgang Schreiber, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors.
