After so many recalls having hit us over the last few years, talking about such a campaign that targets 27,640 cars may not seem like an important matter. However, when those cars come with a Flying B badge, things suddenly become important.
Bentley has recently launched a recall related to a loose battery cable connection. The bolted connection for a battery cable joint could become loose at the point where it goes through the firewall.
The issue affects Bentley’s entire production between February 2011 and June 2014, sans the Mulsanne. So yes, if you happen to drive, or rather be chauffeured around in Bentley’s flagship model, you can simply ignore this story and use your Vertu smartphone for more noble purposes than browsing recall-related news.
To be more specific, the Continental GT, Continental GTC, as well as the Flying Spur are covered by the recall campaign.
Oh well, at least you won’t have to be separated from your Bentley for too long, as the operation is scheduled to last about two hours.

What is Bentley’s take on the matter?
“The safety of our customers is Bentley's foremost priority and we pride ourselves on the highest standard of quality and service. We are working quickly to ensure that all vehicles are checked and resolved efficiently and effectively. Customers are being contacted by their local Bentley dealer to arrange an appointment. This is a voluntary recall and is in no way connected to any other recalls from other automotive manufacturers,” a company statement reads. The fix will be introduced as a brief servicing operation, so that the impact on the customers is limited
Bentley dealers will obviously handle the fix free of charge. Once a customer brings his or her affected vehicle into the dealership, specialists will install a new connection system on the car.Oh well, at least you won’t have to be separated from your Bentley for too long, as the operation is scheduled to last about two hours.
