Bentley’s 2013 sales figures are in and it appears that the staff over in Crewe has plenty of reasons to order champagne. Last year, the carmaker managed to deliver 10,120 cars, a record in its 95-year history.
To get an idea of what the figure means, we’ll tell you that Bentley sold 8,510 units back in 2012. Bentley’s 2013 effort brought the company an extra three percent of market share, so the automaker now has 25 percent of the luxury segment. This makes Bentley a leader in a segment that fell 6 percent.

The Brits didn’t offer details about the exact contribution brought by each of its three model families, but they did mention that the Flying Spur did exceptionally well.

2013 saw Bentley heavily revamp the Continental Flying Spur, with the vehicle being renamed the Flying Spur. They’ve done a pretty nifty job, as they’ve convinced 2,005 customers during the four months of full availability, while the average yearly sales of the Continental Flying Spur sat at 2,700 units.

The Americas region kept its position as the number one market for Bentley (31 percent of the total deliveries). Here, Bentley grew by 28 percent to 3,140 units.

China also kept its place, trailing the Americas with 31 percent of the overall deliveries. In the Middle Kingdom Bentley pushed 3,140 vehicles, a 28 percent boost compared to the 2012 figure.

In Europe, deliveries increased by 11 percent (1,480 cars), an 11 percent gain. As for the UK, this saw 1,381 cars reach their owners, a 25 percent year-on-year boost.

As for the Middle East and Asia Pacific, these saw deliveries reach a record level. In the first, the sales increase was led by the Mulsanne, whose deliveries increased by 38 percent - the total deliveries rose by 45 percent to 1,185 cars. When it came to Asia Pacific, deliveries rose by 26 percent to 452 units, with the Continental GT family leading the offensive.

Japan also did well, as Bentley deliveries in the country grew by a massive 53 percent to 291 cars.
