Back in 1930, Bentley's Chairman Captain Woolf Barnato accepted a rather odd wager in a "like a sir" manner. Alright, it was just a crazy idea that involved racing a train, but that's how history is written.
He managed to pull it off and here's the main reason we're looking at this special edition Bentley Mulsanne Speed Blue Train.

The deal went like this: Woolf Barnato accepted a bet saying he would beat the Calais-Mediterranée Express - nicknamed the Blue Train - from Cannes to Calais. To spice things up, he even pledged to be at his club in London before the Blue Train got to reach the English Channel.

And guess what: he did it, but that shouldn't come as a surprise since Barnato had three Le Mans victories among his silverware. The special edition will be revealed to the public at the Tecno-Classica event in Essen, Germany, but only four model will be built.

"The fact that we are producing just four of these Limited Editions is highly significant, as Barnato famously made it to the club in London four minutes before the train arrived in Calais. The unique design elements bring back nostalgic memories of one of the most legendary Bentleys of all times," said Robert Engstler, Bentley Regional Director Europe.

Now, let's cut to the chase. The model received new black alloy wheels and a redesigned front grille that frames a rectangular mesh design inspired by the original Speed Six.

On the inside, the fancy-schmancy suite includes beautiful leather cutlery holders and a leather rug wrap-around, both featuring ‘Blue Train’ embroidery. In addition, Bentley's know-how added a hamper that contains exclusive Robbe & Berking silver plated cutlery, Haviland Limoges porcelain crockery, LINLEY crystal champagne flutes and a 100 percent Angora picnic rug, woven in Scotland. Exquisite much?
