The convertible hit a couple in their seventies, as well as two other passers-by, hitting the central pedestrian area of the road, as nicematin writes. The latter was protected using a metallic structure, which the massive Bentley disintegrated. The structure included large balls, one of which was thrown onto the sidewalk, where it shattered the windows of multiple shops.
In the process, the Continental GTC lost its driver’s side front wheel. To make the whole scene even more disturbing, the car also crashed into a suspended garden, splashing its contents everywhere, including the cabin.
Two of the struck pedestrians have suffered leg fractures and were transported to the Broussailles hospital. The driver, along with his wife, were taken to the police station for further investigation.
A vehicle such as the Bentley Continental GTC possesses all the necessary assets to drive in full safety at city speeds, even on narrow streets. We can only define whatever special circumstances led to the unfortunate happening, together with the accident itself, as a first world crash.
