Bentley GT V8 S Making North American Debut in Detroit

Some might argue that an Audi-co-developed V8 is not the way Bentley should go, but there's no denying they have an awesome engine on their hands. Besides the much improved fuel economy, a V8 also brings something else, something American buyers will surely love: a great soundtrack.

Last year, Bentley unleashed a more powerful version of its 4-liter twin-turbo onto the Continental GT V8 S and GTC V8 S. Both were revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and now, four months later, the US debut is scheduled to take place in Detroit.

The two superstars of the world of the rich are arriving with a claimed 521 hp (US specification) and 502 lb-ft of torque, 20 horsepower and 15 lb-ft. of torque over the standard V8.

"The GT V8 S is a car for our V8 customers who want more," said Bentley CEO Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber. "It is more agile, with a lower and uprated suspension, faster, with more power and more distinctive with its signature S styling and a unique V8 S soundtrack."

We could never have put it better ourselves. Why? Because "more" means 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph. All that is delivered to the sound of sports exhaust and in total luxury.
