On Saturday, October 19, a fleet of Bentley will descend upon Lower Manhattan in an impressive display of power and luxury. This is one way of showing Americans how Bentley is celebrating the centenary of one of the most high-end marques on the planet.
A procession of Bentleys will start their journey in the morning, departing from Tri-State retailers and central locations, heading for Brookfield Place, where both old and new cars wearing the winged B logo will be on display to admire.

The stars of the show will be the new Flying Spur, showed for the first time, and the ultra-luxurious, insanely high-tech EXP 100 GT, the concept that ignited the imagination of many during the hot summer days.

“The last 18 months have been full of exciting Centenary events, ranging in size and collectively celebrating with retailers, Bentley drivers club and media,” said in a statement Christophe Georges, Bentley Americas CEO.

“The past 100 years of Bentley has been in the forefront of many car enthusiasts’ minds. With the recent, highly anticipated release of the Continental GT and Convertible, and upcoming Bentley Flying Spur and Bentayga Hybrid, our first step into electrification, the future is bright.”

The carmaker did not say exactly how many of its cars will be on-site for the event, but seeing more than one Bentley in one place is a rare enough event. Especially when among them, one can have a look at a concept so insane it is out of this world.

Measuring 5.8 meters in length and 2.4 meters in width, the car is a behemoth that towers over the ground nearly three meters high when the passenger doors swing up. Powering the GT is an electric powertrain with 700 km (434 miles) of range, and electric motors that give it an acceleration time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 300 kph (186 mph).

The EXP 100 GT marks the start of Bentley’s second century. The carmaker does not plan to actually build it, at least not before the year 2035.
