Bentley Driving School On Ice

Bentley will host a driving experience in February and March 2009 that is actually an ice driving tutorial for the ones applying.

Some of you might think that 560 hp on a frozen lake is a bad combination, but Bentley has a different agenda. Helped by the Continental's 4WD system, the cars can be controlled on ice quite nicely in the hands of professionals and the manufacturer is offering you the chance to see them at work and give it a try. The event is open to Bentley customers but also to people like you and me, that is if you are willing to pay the prices.

Their so called teacher will be Juha Kankkunen, the man who set a world ice-driving speed record in 2007. He then drove a Bentley Continental GT on another frozen lake off the coast of Finland.

Despite these bad economic times, Bentley has gone to great lengths in reassuring their customers that they will receive first-class services in accommodation and not only. The automotive constructor built a small private holiday village in the town of Ruka, 800km north of Helsinki, that consists of a small boutique hotel and a number of “exclusive” chalets.

The program also consists of snowmobile trips and a dog-sledding excursion, where you can try to drive the team yourself. The program for the whole event starts on the 16th of February and ends on the 10th of March.

Prices vary between 7,590 and 8,990 euros and while it's definitely not a bargain, the package looks extremely appealing.
