The Bentley Continental GT3 race car will make its public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the British automaker revealed today.
Powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that sends power to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential racing transmission, the Continental GT3 will be 1,000 kg (2205 lbs) lighter than its road-going sibling thanks to several carbon fiber body parts.
The vehicle also sports competition brakes, four-way adjustable dampers and double wishbone suspension, but that’s about all we know about the GT3 for the time being.
Besides showing the new race car, Bentley will also display the Continental GT Speed Coupe, the Continental GT Speed Convertible, the Flying Spur and the Speed 8 Le mans racer at Goodwood. In addition, the GT Speed Convertible will be driven by five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell.
