Bentley’s brand new race car, the Continental GT3, made its official track debut in the United Arab Emirates last week, finishing the Gulf 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi in fourth position.
The Continental GT3 race car was driven by Guy Smith, Steven Kane and Andy Meyrick, each of them driving four hour-long stints. Bentley said the Abu Dhabi race will help them develop and prepare the Continental GT3 for the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series, which is scheduled to commence on April 12.
"In running an all-new car for the first time, our main goal today was to finish the race and be consistent. We've achieved this, and then to finish fourth in a race with such established competition is extremely encouraging. We leave Abu Dhabi with confidence that we will have a reliable and competitive package for 2014, when the hard work really starts,” said Brian Gush, Bentley’s director of motorsport.
