When you drive a Bentley Continental GT, it’s difficult not to allow the elegant spirit of the machine to take over, especially if you’ve gone for a W12 model. Nonetheless, there are certain owners who aim to extract a tad of extra performance. Not all of them end up with the 635HP Continental GT Speed. And when you find yourself in between, you’ll turn to the tuning world.
The latest example of this kind comes from the Conti GT in the images below, which has received an ECU remap. German specialist Mcchip DKR, who is known for its eccentric projects, had taken care of the grand tourer.

As a result of the electronic brain’s new programming, the peak power climbs from 575 to 655 HP, while the maximum twist goes from 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) to an uber-serious 944 Nm (696 lb-ft),

The operation wasn’t exactly performed over a cup of coffee. In fact, it all took 4 hours to complete, as the ECU was removed, remapped and put back in its original position.

Especially with a car like this, such a tuning job is never just about that extra oomph at the top end. The ever-present torque wave that defines the Flying B brand is more important, for example. You’ll be able to find the new power and torque charts below, so you can notice how the values are modified throughout the rev range. Alas, it seems a part of the smoothness was traded off in the race for extra output.

As for how the upgrade benefits the performance, we didn’t receive any figures, but the situation described above obviously also stands in this case.

PS: We'll remind you the VW Group has introduced an all-new W12 engine, which will most likely make its debut on the Bentayga SUV this fall.
