Bentley is currently in the midst of a guard-changing process, so while the Mulsanne flagship sedan is being retired, the Bacalar speedster that debuted last month showed the extended reach of the automaker's Mulliner coachbuilding arm. And it's worth looking past the fresh few-offs in a bid to explore the future of the said division.
Only 12 examples of the Bacalar are being brought to life, with each starting at $1.9 million and this makes for a brilliant opportunity to remind you that Crewe recently showcased six renderings portraying various specs for the machine.

Speaking of pixel creations, the sketch sitting before us showcases a Grand Tourer with a futuristic look. As is the case with the Bacalar, this virtual project revolves around the Continental GT.

The fast-forward look of the big coupe has a serious visual impact, and yet you can still identify this virtual contraption as a Bentley.

And while it may still be too early to be certain of the goodies that lie ahead on the Mulliner path, it looks like modern coachbuilding work has just begun.

As for the source of this rendering, we're talking about an independent effort, albeit one coming from a designer who currently serves Fiat Chrysler - it's only normal for designers to introduce such immersive doodles.

Those of you who are tuned into our Speed Shot tales (there's a tag for that below) might be familiar with the designer's name - for instance, the gearhead is responsible for this potential hint on the future of the Dodge Charger.

Now, since I mentioned the Mulsanne in the intro, I'll remind you that, while reviewing its Speed incarnation last year, it all felt a bit like steering a luxury train. And if this tale sounds like something that needs to be explained, the short film below should have this covered.
