Bentley Continental GT and GTC Series 51 to Debut at Frankfurt

Time passes fast and every automaker tries to stand out from the crowd now that the 2009 IAA approaches. With just one week left until the event kicks off, the British carmaker announced that it too will attend the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it will debut two new models, namely the Bentley Continental GT Series 51 and the Bentley Continental GTC Series 51. Both models are said to come with unique exterior design elements and a distinct interior color combination. According to a statement released by the manufacturer, “Series 51 is named after the year that the first official styling department was established in Crewe by the gifted John Blatchley, who shaped the original and iconic 1950s Bentley Continentals.” The first example of the Continental GTC to be showcased at Frankfurt features Imperial Blue as a main and secondary hide, Linen seat and door inserts and Newmarket Tan as the accent colour. Interior details include diamond quilting, contrast piping for the seats and doors as well as bespoke Series 51 treadplates. The Dark and Bright ‘Engine Spin’ aluminium options provide a striking contrast with darker and lighter hide colour choices and a special, limited-edition Amboyna veneer reserved for Series 51. Unfortunately, Bentley did not give any pricing information, but it says that both models are already available for ordering. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions
