To mark the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne, a feat only accomplished by one other monarch (Queen Victoria in 1897), Bentley has decided to launch a limited run of 60 Mulsannes to celebrate the occasion. The special edition cars have been created with the aid Mulliner, Bentley’s very own coach building division. Mulliner was chosen due to their centuries old ties with the royal family.
To set it apart from lesser Mulsannes, Bentley has bestowed the special edition car with headrests stitched with gold thread, small tables in the rear depicting the royal carriage used for special occasions by the Royal family. The same gold motif is also present on the black leather seat cushions, being complimented by highly polished tread-plates with the inscriptions ‘Bentley Mulliner, England’ and ‘Diamond Jubilee Edition’.
The car was launched in China as it is now Bentley’s largest market with 1.664 cars sold there in 2011 and sales figures are rising and will probably continue to rise along with the Chinese luxury car market itself.
