Seven seats, murdered-out look, and opulent luxury. That’s what the Bentley Bentayga Le Mans Edition by Kahn Design promises, and that’s not all. At £169,999 for the 50-mile demonstrator vehicle, it’s also great value for money.
There’s a reason the tuned Bentayga costs less than an all-new model with the W12 twin-turbo engine. That’s because Kahn Design’s newcomer is based on the £135,800 diesel Bentayga, which shares its oil-chugging 4.0-liter V8 with the Audi SQ7. I’m afraid that’s right, this Bentley drinks Satan’s fuel!
“Driven by a desire to design a sporting iteration of this highly desirable vehicle,” the company headed by Afzal Kahn started the tuning program with Volcanic Rock Satin paintwork. The bumper spoiler, rear wing, and window surrounds are finished in carbon fiber, enhancing the car's visual persona.
Shadow satin embellishes the front bumper side sills and rear bumper detailing, while the exhaust system rounds off the exterior modifications with a high-gloss shadow finish. Oh, look at those wheels! Measuring 10x23", the Diamond Mirror on Gloss Black Le Mans alloy wheels are an in-house design.
Underneath the skin, the MLB Evo platform welcomes an adjustable lowering module that “allows customers to create the perfect stance or achieve a responsive ride.” Hopping inside, the cabin wears Kahn 3D Herringbone black perforated leather, including on the steering wheel and all four door panels.
Metal trim is treated to the high-gloss shadow finish, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The British company offers virtually endless customization options for the Bentley Bentayga, with upgrades such as quilted nappa leather, alcantara, and many more. Of course, the W12-powered model is also fit for tuning, be it the entire styling package or individual Kahn Design bits.
On a slight tangent to the subject, Bentley confirmed that there’s no sub-Bentayga model in the pipeline, but an electric sports car expected to borrow Porsche Mission E components. The full-size SUV, meanwhile, will welcome a plug-in hybrid powertrain sometime next year, which uses a force-fed V6.
