Something tells us that by tomorrow morning, the Bentley Bentayga will be officially revealed. Looking exactly the way everybody suspected, the first SUV in the history of this car company has leaked out early.
A few photos originating from the company's main website seem to suggest changes are being made in order to fit the Bentayga right between the Flying Spur and the Continental in the dot-com universe.

According to World Car Fans, the Bentayga domain was quickly taken down before they could discover the juicy technical bits. But according to the manufacturer, this is going to be the fastest SUV in the world, capable of nudging 300 km/h.

That's impressive for a vehicle designed also to cope with the rough stuff. As you may see in the video below, Bentley did everything to ensure this is a proper SUV. They might never have made such a vehicle, but these Brits know a lot about 4x4 equipment and their allies at Audi and Volkswagen helped.

Under the bonnet is going to be a downsized W12, now displacing "only" 6 liters. However, twin-turbo technology and direct fuel injection will help it deliver an output of 608 PS and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque.

A V8 model is certain to come out in a few more years, costing noticeably less and capable of being somewhat frugal. Depending on what the market dictates, the Bentayga may also become the first of many plug-in hybrids sold by Bentley.

Besides it being an SUV, the only major problem people had with the Bentayga was the ugliness of the original concept. We're glad to report that the EXP 9 F has been chiseled into a fine machine that has a discrete yet imposing presence, just like a Range Rover. That's why we think it will sell like hotcakes.
