The Bentayga, which is the first SUV in the history of the Bentley brand, is about a month away from being revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. But the Range Rover rival has made a cameo appearance as a large scale cast model in China.
Considering how close we are to the reveal of the Bentayga, we believe that this is an officially sanctioned piece of memorabilia. The design is the same as the numerous prototypes that have been seen testing all over the world.

As a 1:18 scale toy, the Bentayga is nowhere near as exciting as the Lamborghini Urus. All the lines are rounded off, and the overall impression is that of a jacked up Flying Spur. However, if every millionaire in the world buys this SUV and starts posting pictures on Instagram, kids will go crazy for the scale version.

The Bentayga was first previewed by the EXP 9 F concept car a few years ago. It was widely criticized for its awkward design, forcing Bentley to go back to the drawing board and come up with a revised look.

What we noticed in these photos provided by Car News China are the huge panoramic glass roof and luxurious interior. In the back, there are two individual seats designed for comfort and support, with thick carpets, deep bolsters and possibly a cooler in the middle.

Based on the same platform as the new Audi Q7, the Bentayga body will be made at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant in Slovakia and then shipped over to Britain. The main engine option will be a new twin-turbo W12 6.0-liter with 608 PS (447 kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque. However, there is likely going to be a 4-liter option, just like in the Continental GT V8.

We believe this scale model leak is an intentional move made by Bentley and will be followed by additional images in the coming weeks.
