For those few who think the $230,000 Bentley Bentayga isn’t exclusive enough by itself, the British brand will be offering a special limited number First Edition models to the first 608 customers.
And why would you find the Bentayga exclusive? It’s not like it’s the fastest, most powerful and most luxurious SUV in the world. Wait, what? It is? Oh, never mind then.
Bentley will be building a limited number of 608 Bentaygas with exclusive design and a very comprehensive list of equipment. The car was presented to a few of the possible future owners of the limited edition at the iconic Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles, before the Auto Show that’s about to begin there.
Why 608? Well, the answer is hidden in the technical specs of the car. “Hidden” might not be the most suitable word, as it’s the first number everyone gazing at Bentayga’s sheet will be looking for: it’s the metric power output of the 6.0-liter W12 engine, the equivalent of 600 bhp. Why choose the metric value? Who cares, as long as it’s the larger one (even if by a tiny margin)?
These lucky owners of the 608 First Edition Bentaygas will also receive a unique Breitling watch to match their new ultra-luxury SUV. The watchmaker created three high-performance chronographs to mark the launch of the Bentley Bentayga: the Emergency, equipped with an integrated dual frequency personal locator beacon; Cockpit B50, with an electronic multifunction calibre; and the Chronomat 38, designed specifically for women.
All three Breitling Bentayga Edition models have a few features in common: officially chronometer-certified Breitling movement; all-black case with a special design; black mother-of-pearl dial; bronze hands; and a rubber strap in tone with certain interior elements of the Bentayga. All three will later be available as optional equipment for any Bentley Bentayga client.
