The Bentley Bacalar - that's a nice alliteration, though it's not as good as the car itself. The most expensive Bentley of the modern era was unveiled exactly three months ago and will become a styling icon of the current era. But should it also influence other models?
You might think that now is not a good time to talk about a car that costs about $2,000,000 and of which only twelve will ever be produced. However, the 20,000 units of Bentayga SUV made by Bentley suggest the world will always have a taste for luxury goods.

Right now, the Bentayga is approaching the middle of its life cycle. That means Bentley will see fit to introduce a facelift, which has already begun testing.

Now, we don't yet know what they plan to do in the styling department. But under the camouflage, the Bentayga still appeared to have four round headlights. Is that what everybody wants?

After seeing this rendering, we wish Bentley would instead copy the Bacalar's headlights onto the SUV. This is already a well-established look, introduce by the EXP 100 GT concept.

It's not just about the lights, though they're nice too. Bentley has also modernized the shape of its iconic grille. Kleber Silva managed to capture that well in his 2022 Bentayga facelift rendering.

The Bacalar is a direct collaboration between the design department and the Mulliner division. You may have heard about their attention to detail. It's why the stunning roadster features almost 150,000 stitches for each seat.

We don't expect any major changes under the hood, as the Bentayga already comes with every engine it will ever need. This includes everything from a 3-liter V6 in hybrid form to a rare V8 diesel. However, the most exotic flavor is in the W12-powered Bentayga Speed.

The dashboard was also covered up in our spyshots, meaning Bentley will change the dash. Most likely, the SUV is getting the new screens from the Flying Spur.
