According to What Car, Porsches and Bentleys occupy the last two places in top comprising the world' most reliable cars. As usual, Honda was crowned once again King of Reliability while the runner-up and the third place are reserved for Suzuki and Toyota respectively.

The same source says that the reliability index is analyzed by experts who "calculates each vehicle’s reliability using a complex formula that takes into account its failure rate, age, mileage and cost of repair. The lower the RI number, the more trustworthy the car."

However, they don't give away the formula or other details about how such classifications are done, but we know the list was put together from 50,000 live insurance policies of cars aged between three and eight years old.

In the end, Porsche and Bentley proved to be the most likely to break down, and that's now something owners of potential buyers would like to hear. I mean, who pays hefty amounts of money for a luxury car just to constantly repair it, regardless of what social status it might come with.

But as life teaches us, it gets worse. For example, the Audi RS6 is the most costly car to fix, with an average repair bill of around £1,003 ($1,494). That's a good alternative to cutting onions if you like to cry a lot.

For now, Japanese and South-Korean carmakers are dominating the ranks and we don't see that changing in the near future. That is, unless such studies act like a wake-up call for some manufacturers.
