Belgian Footballer Drivers Porsche Panamera into Petrol Station

Whenever you hear the explanation for any given accident as being “I accidentally pressed the gas, instead of the brake”, be aware that there may be more to the story than you may think at first. This is what 25 year-old Belgian footballer Jonathan Legear said after crashing his Porsche Panamera into a gas station store, at what appears to be full thrust.
He did say that he mistakingly pressed the throttle, instead of the brake, but who would believe him, when he was discovered to be just over the legal drink-drive limit. The incident took place in the Belgian town of Tongeren, and the car can be seen through all of the store’s cameras, as it crashes through the entire store, smashing many stalls along the way.

After an initial tally, the store owner says that the incident caused some €250,000-worth of damages, and after factoring in the cost of the repair work that needs to be carried out on the Panamera (we don’t know an exact number, but it is definitely very expensive), it proved to be a very expensive night out.

A funny fact is Legear’s move in 2010, from the Belgian team Anderlecht, to Terek Grozny, in Russia. It seems that two years in Russia really changes a man’s driving style, for the worst!
