Like it or not, extremely wealthy people currently living on the same planet you are have a whole different type of lifestyle. You might be happy with that new Prius you finally managed to buy and get all the joy from a two-week holiday in Cuba. But the 1% percent of the planet, design their own cars, buy the most expensive hypercars before they even reach the market and basically have completely different existences.
And with an estimated net worth of $4.9 billion the founder of Virgin Group is by far one of those people. Sure, as opposed to most of the extremely wealthy people out there, Sir Richard Branson is at least trying to make this planet a better place. After all, he does have a lot to lose, doesn’t he?

1st World Commuters?

Our countless journeys through the land of world wide internet somehow led us to an extremely luxurious catamaran named Necker Belle. Since we know all about Branson’s auto interests, we simply wanted to get a closer view of what the seventh richest citizen of the UK commute looks like for a change. In case you haven’t heard about it so far, join us in this little detour.

First of all, you need to know it’s inspired by Branson’s Necker Island resort. Located in the British Virgin Islands just north of Virgin Gorda, this piece of heaven is entirely owned by Chairman of the Virgin Group, as it's also the billionaire’s residence. We figured since this is his home, the 105-foot (32 m) private charter catamaran yacht would make for his commuter.

Several restorations

After Branson had bought it 2006, the eccentric vessel went through some serious restoration that lasted for about two years. In 2013, Necker Belle received further state of the art upgrades, including two new main engines, generators, new trampolines and new sails. Opulence is everywhere, from the four amazing rooms to the master suite, a double cabin and two twin cabins. Everything is equipped with en-suite shower rooms, flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations and eccentric interiors.

Created to accommodate up to 12 guests, the main attraction probably is the underwater exploration toy, the Necker Nymph. This two-person submersible is, in fact, the world’s first of the kind. According to Luxatic, the Necker Belle adventure is something people with deep pockets can experience.

Sure, it will cost them a minimum of $88,000 for seven nights on the luxury catamaran. They will also need to spend an additional $25,000 per week for the Necker Nymph. At least the set will come with a professional chef and exquisite wines, beers and champagne included.

And here we are dreaming that one day we could actually afford buying a ticket on Virgin Galactic's trip to space...
