Beckham's Matt Black Porsche

Back in February 2008, LA Galaxy's David Beckham added a shiny Porsche Turbo Cabriolet to his Beverly Hills garage. He wanted to add a bit of his own style to the car so he had his number embroidered in the headrests of the front seats.

Last month, after a year and a half, he got bored of its appearance and gave it a dirty matte black finish. It seems that David has a thing for all-black vehicles. He was recently spotted taking his kids to school, driving with the top down in his 500+ hp tricked-out Cabriolet.

Beckham is world renowned for the contents of his garage, his car collection advancing rapidly, as did his soccer reputation. In 2005 he even turned down a free Ferrari offered by Scuderia's chairman Luca di Montezemolo because he already had a 550 Maranello.

Other vehicles in his fleet include a Lincoln Navigator, a Cadillac Escalade and a Bentley Continental GTC, most of them also wearing his signature 23 insignia. As a childhood dream fulfillment, in 2000 Beckham bought a TVR Cerbera that he later sold on eBay for GBP 71,350.

His wife, Victoria Beckham seems to also have an affinity for cars. She was asked to help with the interior design of the new Range Rover Evoque.

According to its German manufacturer, the Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet is one of the fastest convertible sports cars in production. Due to its streamlined low profile it is capable of reaching similar top speeds and acceleration of the standard Porsche 997 Turbo Coupe. It's no surprise that Beckham likes it so much, but being a drop-top is all about that intense experience of driving with the hood down.
