Stereotypes dictate that bus drivers are overweight, stained by mustard and lacking personal hygiene. They also clearly state that women are really bad at driving. But what if we were to tell you that a beautiful woman called Yelena Budai drives a bus in the capital of Belarus, a small Eastern European country.
Until proven otherwise Yelena is the best looking of all the bus drivers in the Minsk region. And yet she's also quite skilled. Local publication Onliner reports she's got 12 years of experience driving large vehicles and owns a license for passenger cars, large buses and trucks.
She comes from a long family of career drivers, but was initially afraid her family would not approve her career choice: “My dad is a driver. My grand-dad is a driver too. However, I had to pass my license exams without telling them about my plans to become a driver."
So what's the average day behind the wheel like for a slim blonde in an ex-Soviet country. Predictably, people have a hard time believing she's a pro and some men can't help the urge to ask for a date or her phone number.
“I have to renew my manicure more often and sometimes boys want to hook up with me while I am in my workplace – behind the wheel of this big bus." recalls Yelena.
