Football players Claudio Pizarro, David Alaba and Rafinha undertook a special visit Tuesday afternoon at the Ingolstadt-based Audi factory. Having board members of FC Bayern Munich AG Matthias Sammer and Andreas Jung along, the players took workers by surprise on a tour of the factory. Sammer also used the opportunity to collect his new company car, which he personally drove back to Munich.
The group had Robert Humig, head of Audi A4/A5/Q5 assembly, as the guide through the factory’s main corridors. “Today we have the opportunity to bring together a great team with our super team. For our employees, this is a highlight and we are very excited about the visit,” he welcomed the sportsmen.

The first stop was at the swivel range. Here the bodies are titled to 60 degrees, so that the brake and the fuel lines, battery cables and insulations can be attached to the subfloor. Then, the group went to the cockpit installation area. In here, Claudio Pizarro and Rafinha grabbed the robot arm that carried the cockpit of an Audi Q5, and directed him using Audi employees to its proper position.

At the next station, David Alaba took the turn and helped installing the roof. He was allowed to take the module assembly seat and ergonomic work without any assistance. Then, the group made their way to the end of the assembly line, where a small area was blocked for a short autograph session.

FC Bayern Munich is Germany’s most successful club in football history, having won a record 24 national titles and 17 national cups. Based in Munich, Bavaria, 9.1% of the club’s shares are owned by the german auto maker Audi, which is also one of their premium partners.
