Bayern Munich Players Get New Audis

As one of the main sponsors for German football team FC Bayern Munich, German manufacturer Audi decided to celebrate the start of the new Bundesliga season by giving the members of the football team a new range of Audi models to be used by the players.

For the eight year of the sponsorship, the players had to chose between several Audi models. According to the carmaker, most went for TDI engined vehicles, with models ranging from an A8 (coach Louis van Gaal) to the A3 Sportback (David Alaba). Arjen Robben went for the new A8, while Toni Kroos and Thomas Kraft decided to be seen this year in Audi RS 5 models.

“We’re happy to be starting into the new season alongside the double winner,” said Rupert Stadler, who welcomed the guests from Munich together with his management board colleague Peter Schwarzenbauer.

“Last year we saw the most successful season since the beginning of our partnership. As a result, we’re looking forward to the new season with particularly eager anticipation,” said Stadler.

The Bayern Munich were introduced during the handover ceremony to the new A1, which has been brought to the event wearing a special “Competition” design. As far as we know, however, despite the rounds of applause by the players, none of them chose the smallest Audi in history.

“Tradition, innovation, superb technical skills and sportiness at the highest level – this is what FC Bayern stands for on the playing field and, with Audi as its vehicle partner for as many as eight years, before and after the matches as well,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
