Named Capeland Shelby Cobra, the limited edition timepiece collection is the latest commission of the Swiss luxury watchmaking company. Inspired by the 1948 mono-push-piece chronograph in the Baume & Mercier Museum, the exclusive watch is distinguished by its retro accents, classic lines, chronograph and tachymeter functions. Designed along with the Caroll Shelby Company, the new collection is a limited to 1,965 pieces edition that celebrates the automotive legend’s victory at the 1965 FIA International Championship of GT Manufacturers. Some believe that this victory changed the course of international racing forever. It is the moment Shelby brought his greatest creation - the Cobra - to world attention. The heart of the new collection is a chronograph powered by a Swiss-made self-winding movement. The 44mm diameter case is forged from polished and satin-finished stainless steel. It frames a dial featuring chronograph counters inspired by Cobra’s iconic dashboard and is finished in Shelby's Guardsman Blue racing color with Superluminova blue emission. Shelby double racing stripes and special hours and minutes hands designed in the shape of Cobra's steering wheel, and the famous Cobra logo placed on the second hand complete the big picture. According to Baume & Mercier, the strap was created in premium black alligator with red calfskin rubber-like lining, grey stitching and triple-folding clasp with security push-pieces. Since any collector wants to feel special with every new piece he buys, the Capeland’s sapphire crystal back is engraved with the collection title and Caroll Shelby’s personal signature. Satin-finished 18K red gold for the few
And if all the above won’t convince, the company also decided to create a second limited edition as part of the already limited edition collection, for those with truly deep pockets.

Not only are there only 98 pieces available, but this one has some further opulent features such as the polished and satin-finished 18K red gold buckle, and a Guardsman Blue Dial. Those who will opt for this exclusive collection will also receive a book detailing the full history of the Cobra.

Since these collectibles won’t be available sooner than June, you still have some time left to save up or sell things to get proper cash. Believe it or not, the first will cost you $4,450 while the luxurious model will set you back at $19,950.
