An incredibly loud BMW F10 M5 jumped on the dyno over in the European Auto Source garage, to show the world that HP changes coming from your exhaust system are not a myth.

Just a few years back, the world was still reticent towards tuning and the advantages it brought using simple tricks. Today, we have the technology to prove that the change in both performance and perception when doing a simple operation such as adding a new exhaust is palpable.

Case and point, this Battleship Gray BMW F10 M5 ( that’s actually the name of the color, it must belong to an ex-marine or something). The car received a couple of simple fixes over at EAS and then was put to the test on the dyno.

The stock version used to make 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Those are crank numbers, the wheel readings probably showing a bit less power as there is inevitable drivetrain loss.

After installing AMS catless downpipes, a JB4 tune and a Meisterschaft exhaust system, the results were more than impressive: 617 HP and 564 lb-ft (765 Nm) of torque, at the wheels! That means that you get around 700 HP and 900 Nm at the crank, an incredible amount of power nonetheless.

Other add-ons include ADV.1 ADV10 M.V2 SL wheels in red, Brembo GT big brake kit, KW V3 coilover system and a Vorsteiner carbon fibre front lip spoiler.
