Over the years, the Gumball 3000 has had its fair share of wacky four-wheeled creations and the 2013 edition of the rally is set to bring a truly mad one. As we previously reported, Team Galag will show up in a replica of the Tumber vehicle featured in the latest Batman motion picture. The vehicle has recently been taken to the streets, tasting the tarmac in preparation for the actual road feast.
This year the Gumball Rally celebrates its 15th anniversary and the boys want to make sure they ride in style. Team Galag’s Tumbler uses a custom frame and is motivated by a 6.2-liter V8. The 5,500 lbs (2.5-ton) creation has a hilarious top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h), so it will probably compete for the “Spirit of the Gumball” trophy rather than for any checkpoint victories.
You can see the Tumbler having a little asphalt snack in the clip below. The sheer presence of the thing is intimidating, so we can’t wait to see it in action.
