While fans eagerly chase new footage taken on the set of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, folks in Japan seemed to be even closer to the caped crusader then they thought. Social media in Japan was filled with pictures with a man wearing a Batman suite riding a street-legal trike on a highway near Tokyo.
Yes people, it’s Batman himself and he’s living in Japan, Tokyo to be more precise. Drivers in Chiba Prefecture, a prefecture of Japan located in the Kanto region and the Greater Tokyo Area, took several pictures of what seems to be a real life Batman. According to Rocket News, it was last Saturday when multiple motorists were driving on the Wangan Line highway, which runs along Tokyo Bay, and they spotted the Caped Crusader spinning past them.
It’s still unclear whether the masked person was actually doing a shooting or some sort of commercial clip, but the social media was immediately bombarded with images of Batman posted by local people. Maybe it’s not really the Batcycle the hero rides in the movies, which is intended as a kind of “escape pod” integrated into the famous Tumbler, but it looks pretty similar. It’s obviously packing three wheels instead of two and it’s not armed with dual front-mounted cannons, machine guns and grappling hooks, but still...
At first, people who’ve seen the pictures wouldn’t even believe they’re real, but shortly after a video proof also appeared online. We’re looking at a full-sized vehicle with a human rider wearing complete Batman costume, including a pretty cool cape.
We don’t know about you guys, but seeing these images makes us want to live in Japan for a while, considering we’d have the Cape Crusader protecting the city.
