The Machinist, we liked, of course. Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, we enjoyed them too. But did you know Christian Bale started his career with Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun when he was only 13? Well, all that hard work seems to have won him the part of the great Enzo Ferrari in a new biopic.
We don’t know what your dreams in terms of new movies are, but we’ve been waiting for quite a while now for somebody to make this announcement. Sure, it’s not like we meant it to be Christian Bale necessarily, but we just want to see those camera roles spinning already.

Because let’s face it, Enzo Ferrari deserves a proper biopic. We’re talking about the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque. Il Commendatore has lived most of his 90-year life to its best, and we find it safe to say he made automotive history.

Christian Bale is not doing so bad himself if we are to look at his records. For instance, through his role as Dicky Eklund in the David O. Russell-directed biopic The Fighter, the 41-year-old Hollywood star won several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and other.

Getting back to the biopic in question, according to Deadline, the film will shoot next summer. Moreover, it appears that Mann has been working under the hood of this movie for close to 15 years, at one time in partnership with the late director Sydney Pollack.

Now, last time we were talking about the “Ferrari” biopic, we were telling you guys there may be some controversies going on once the film will hit the screens. You see, while Christian Bale will envision Enzo, somewhere else, another movie crew will be busy shooting a different Ferrari biopic featuring none other than Robert de Niro as the lead actor.

Well, it’s always better to have two movies than no film at all, isn’t it?
