Bates Footwear is famous for providing boots for the US military but only recently, the company decided to tap into the motorcycle apparel market and thus presented its new 2017 PowerSports Line at the AIMExpo.
Taking advantage of their military grade heritage and technology, Bates Footwear created the PowerSports Line to give riders a new choice for those looking for protection, durability, and comfort.
New for the 2017 collection are the Freedom and Bomber boots, both featuring leather and nylon uppers with a rugged Vibram outsole, Poron XRD impact foam toe and a tough reinforced patch on the area the shifter touches.
The boots are also water-resistant, and the Dri-Lex textile lining provides moisture management, offering total breathability and preventing the grow of bacteria, thus the development of foot odor.
The Freedom version is 6-inch tall and can be had in Black with Camo pattern or Brown. The Bomber is 9-inch, comes with an extra leather heel pull and is offered in the same two finishes.
Another interesting boot is the Crossover, which is recommended for touring. The boot comes with 200 grams of insulation as well as a waterproof membrane in case you get into a heavy downpour. Other features include a speed lacing system, cushioned EVA midsole as well as oil and slip resistant rubber outsole. It comes only in black.
The previously available Adrenaline and Taser boots also get updated for 2017. The Adrenaline now gets graphite and brown leather along with the original black one, while the gray and black Taser receives new dark gray and brown waterproof suede.
The Beltline and Marauder models will be continued in select colors. Prices for the full range aren’t available at the moment, with the new boots following to be hit the shelves later this year through Tucker Rocky/Biker’s Choice dealers.
