Basically New, 2011 Chevy Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition Clearly Looks “Supersonic”

Back in 2010 Chevrolet was happily celebrating no less than half a century since its first entry in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans with “America’s sports car,” the Corvette. Naturally, they needed to rekindle the memory of that achievement with a contemporary tribute – the 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition. Just two colors were available for the C6 exterior – a come look at me Inferno Orange and the tastefully restrained I’ll let the 7.0-liter LS7 do the talking Supersonic Blue. It’s been a decade since, and perhaps no one would have guessed there were any examples left untouched... So, surprise, surprise!

Because it celebrated such an important moment from the Corvette series’ heritage, the 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition was packed choke full of Chevrolet’s best performance gear and equipment. Hence, some people marked this as a potential collector’s item.

Well, this particular example that’s still up for grabs for a limited time on Bring A Trailer is certainly a great find with just five miles reading on the odometer and looking as if it just got out the dealership gates. But, on the other hand, we can’t be sure if the car will turn in a big profit for the Texas dealer selling it – the auction’s highest bid at the time of writing is at just $45,500.

While the price might seem high for a ten-year old vehicle, we should take into consideration the fact that we’re dealing with one of just 250 examples built in this configuration. And then there’s also the setup, which clearly turns this C6 Corvette into a juicy build for any Chevy aficionado or sports car enthusiast.

The Supersonic Blue Z06 Carbon Edition is paired with a set of great-looking staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear ZR1 wheels dressed up in black, while the exterior features a lot of carbon fiber goodies to warrant its branding – including the hood and the roof panel, among others.

The interior is just as inviting with its ebony leather, microfiber inserts, and matching Supersonic Blue stitching. There’s an abundance of carbon fiber elements in here as well, of course.

And then there’s the heart of the ‘Vette, the 7.0-liter LS7 V8, which came with 505 hp from the factory. It’s mated to a purist six-speed manual transaxle gearbox and is sending the power to the wheels through a limited-slip differential. No worries that maneuverability won’t be on par with today’s standards – Chevy fitted its neat Magnetic Selective Ride Control, as well as a set of carbon-ceramic brakes from Brembo.
