Base-Spec 2020 Porsche 911 Rendered As $60,000 Bargain, Still Looks Amazing

The Porsche 911 generation switch that took place late last month saw the pricing of the Neunelfer jumping by around $8,000 for the Carrera S and Carrera 4S models, the only ones launched so far. Sure, 992 models bring more power and extra equipment, but if we apply the same financial jump to the base model, we conclude that the base 2020 Carrera, which lands next year, will cost around $100,000.

And when you think about the fact that the Neunelfer family has over twenty derivatives (we're only talking about road cars here), with pricing going well above $300,000 for a fully-gifted 991.2 GT2 RS, living the rear-engined dream seems almost impossible for many Porschephiles.

Well, the Internet has a solution for that, even though this involves dwelling on dreams, since it's a mere rendering.

Nevertheless, the pixel play we have here portrays a base-spec Neunelfer, one that would be offered for, say, $60,000. Keep in mind this is the kind of money that would bring one a standard 718 Cayman or 718 Boxster and by standard we're referring to a non-S model without optional goodies.

Then again, with Porsche's list of optional extras being one of the richest in the world (here's an example of how much of a difference tiny details make in the world of Zuffenhausen), one may at least dream of removing all creature comforts and grabbing a 911 for such a sum.

The rendering, which comes from digital label X-Tomi, whose work we featured on multiple occasions, sticks to the basics.

So while the 2020 Porsche 911 sitting before you still has wheels, these are steelies. Headlights? Of course they're here (after all, the thing needs to be street-legal), but they come in Halogen form. Oh, and let's not forget the non-color-coded front and rear aprons.

And while those outside the realm of Porsche lovers might not understand this contraption, there are plenty of 911 fans who would make the choice, such is the 911 fetish. For one thing, the machine is ligther and perhaps more retro-looking that a normal Neunelfer.

Returning to the real world, the closest we'll ever get to such a version will probably be the 992 Carrera T, but don't forget this is around $10,000 more expensive than the standard 911 Carrera.
