Barrichello Reiterates Critics of Brawn GP

Although Ross Brawn tried to excuse Rubens Barrichello's burst of fury at the end of the German Grand Prix last Sunday, the Brazilian driver is having a hard time letting go of his anger towards the Brackley based team. The F1 veteran reiterated his belief that the team is still favoring Jenson Button for the 2009 title and insisted he doesn't plan to retract his post-race comments in Germany.

Soon after the Nurburgring race last weekend, when a fuel rig problem and a long third pit stop caused Barrichello to slip from 1st to 6th place in the second half of the race, Barrichello pointed some clear fingers at his team for “ruining his race.

Brawn later argued that radio problems prevented the team from giving their driver lap-by-lap updates concerning the behavior of his car and argued that, when confronted with the Sunday information, Barrichello would see things differently.

Well, he was wrong! Even after being informed of what exactly happened during the race, the Brazilian veteran did not want to change his story. He did admit, however, that getting into a fight with his team will not serve him for the remainder of the season.

I have spoken to the team and the view is quite the same. It's not my intention to get into a fight with the team as I want to win the championship, so now I need to put my head down and work. At the end of the day I can quit at the end of the year if I want to but now I want to get on with racing,” argued Barrichello.

In addition, Barrichello said the team apologized to him after the race, which is a clear suggestion to their failure to help him during the Nurburgring race.
